So here it is. The most successful series in the Micromax family is undoubtedly the CANVAS series. The first Micromax Canvas phone was Micromax A100 but it was not so successful. It was succeeded by the universally acclaimed phone Micromax A110 Canvas 2. The features of this phone under 11K made it a strong competitor of Samsung Galaxy smartphones and Apple iphones. If, that was not enough then here it is- Micromax A116 Canvas 3 HD. Yes, You heard it right Canvas 3 is HD smart phone. Micromax Announced in January 2013 that they will soon be launching Micromax A116 which will be successor of Canvas 2. The phone is popularly called as Micromax Canvas 3. After Much waiting, the phone finally launched on 14th Feb 2013 i.e. on Valentine’s day. It is now available on Micromax’s official website and on popular online shopping sites. The features of Micromax A116 Canvas 3 HD are killer and you won’t get any better than this. This time micromax has increased the price range from 14K with improved features. Micromax A116 Canvas 3 HD have 1.2 GHz quad core processor. Forget the days of dual core processor. Moreover, Micromax A116 Canvas 3 HD will be running on Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system which is currently the latest version of Android OS. Like its predecessor, Micromax Canvas 3 will also have 8MP primary camera with an improved 2MP secondary camera. The only problem that i think Micromax Canvas 3 users will face, is the low internal memory. Canvas 3 has 2 GB internal memory out of which only 1.77 gb memory is available for user. 300 MB memory is used by Android and the pre-installed apps.

Micromax Canvas 2 was a huge success. Personally i am also waiting for canvas 3. The success of Canvas series makes this phone worth waiting.

Canvas 3 has betterfeatures as you can see above. The base price of brand new phone is always high. Chances are that they will come down lately.

Rumors has it that display type will be AMOLED. IPS is considered better than AMOLED. Don’t have update about the Gorilla Glass but we can hope sweet surprises from Micromax.

Is the present android up gradable in case a better version comes??
Android is not like iPhone’s iOS where the upgraded version is available for all users. Google updates Androids and make it available to certain areas and certain carriers first. Later on it expands the areas where the upgraded version is available. Usually America gets the upgraded version first and then it is made available in India. So your phone might not get upgraded to the latest version but whenever it is available for your device then Android will automatically notify you.

I Would suggest you to wait.It Won’t hurt. After all you will have two options and you can choose the better among them. Waiting for one months isn’t that difficult. As far as Goodwill of Micromax is concerned, I guess we should support our nations company. I myself have small Micromax phones and trust me they are working fine for me.

Samsung Galaxy Grand is costlier phone than Micromax Canvas 3. More over the features provided by Micromax Canvas 3 are equal to the features provided by samsung Galaxy Grand Duos. However if you still want to go with Samsung brand then i would suggest you to go with Samsung Galaxy S Duos.

Canvas 3 is a great phone, and I like it.
Only problem is low resolution display.
As I previously said, Galaxy grand is a great phone except it’s display, A116 has a HD display.
due to this I am in dilemma in between these two phones.

keeping in mind the quad core processor and high definition display the battery should be atleast 3100 mAh. Otherwise it seems a good phone
For Canvas 3 with Gorilla Glass people will be happy with 20,000 Rs tag also .
Think Micromax about the option of Gorilla Glass 2 with little bit 22,000 Rs also will do.

today I went to market to buy Canvas 3 in Jodhpur(Rajasthan) but not found. But after reading reviews here I have to rethink about Micromax Canvas3 A116 HD … I am not a person of that kind who buys cellphones on a short periods Currently I m using a Nokia Smart Phone which I have been using for 3 years .. so again now I want to buy such a phone that I can use it easily for the next two three years because its not easy for me repenting on poor quality of phones after spending.. Plz suggest me such a phone which can be a next generation phone .. I wanna buy a phone having features like Canvas 3, Samsung Grand, 8 mp camera, upgradable Android version etc.. good quality RAM etc…
